Hopi Marao Kachina Doll, c.1950

This Hopi Marao kachina doll dates to 1950. Marao, with his distinctive tripod headdress, appears in the Hopi villages' dances in late Spring. This charing depiction of Marao has nice details, including a yarn ruff and leather shoulder bag. He holds an antler in one hand. The doll measures 14 1/2" height and is in excellent condition.
