Navajo Squash Blossom Necklacke, c.1940-1950

An elegant example of Navajo silverwork, this classic squash blossom necklace features a prominent sandcast naja at the end of two strands of handmade silver beads punctuated by silver bowties with detailed stamping and repoussé. Accented by eleven all-natural American turquoise stones, this piece is balanced an eye catching. Dating from around 1940-1950, the double chain measures 25" in from clasp to clasp, while the naja measures 2 1/4" wide by 2" high. Hallmarked "BJ" by the artist, possibly Benjamin James. It is in excellent original condition and a great centerpiece for any collection of Native American jewelry.
