Hopi Tasap Kachina Doll, c.1940s

This excellent example of a traditional Hopi Tasap kachina doll dates to the 1940s. This doll has great detail, from his exquisitely painted mask to his dance sash, and is carved from lightweight cottonwood root. Tasap is known as the Navajo Kachina. The doll measures 7 1/2" height and is in excellent condition.
