Hopi-Tewa Black and White on Red Bowl by Annie Healing Nampeyo new

This classic Sikyatki Revival bowl is the distinctive work of Nampeyo's oldest daughter, Annie Healing Nampeyo. The black and white design features a sky band at the top, with a classic swirl dropping down from a variation of the Nampeyo eagle tail design. The red bowl fired well, with the white pigment popping nicely from the red background. The bowl dates to 1907, and has a lug at the top for hanging the bowl on a wall, characteristic of older style Hopi bowls. This excellent example of Annie's work measures 1 1/2" height and 8 3/4" diameter, and is in good condition without repair.
