Contemporary Hopi Bowl by Rachel Sahmie

This contemporary Hopi bowl is the work of the late Hopi master potter Rachel Sahmie (1956-2022). Rachel is the great-great-granddaughter of Nampeyo, the great-granddaughter of Annie Healing Nampeyo, and the daughter of Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo. This piece is exemplary of Rachel's symmetrical molding and fine polishing, and both the contemporary style and the dominance of the red clay make this piece rare and unique. The bowl measures 4 3/4" height and 9 1/4" diameter, and is in excellent, original condition.

P4401 -- $750
