Hopi Polychrome Bowl by Nyla Sahmie new

Master Hopi potter Nyla Sahmie fired this polychrome bowl in August 2022. Nyla is a fifth generation Nampeyo family potter. She is the daughter of Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo, and the great-granddaughter of Annie Healing Nampeyo. This bowl is decorated with traditional Nampeyo family designs, with precise stippling and fine line hatching. The piece also draws inspiration from the ancient world, with designs that are reminiscent of ancestral Hopi pottery. The bowl measures 3 1/2" height and 8" diameter, and fired well with bold pigmentation.
