Hopi Polychrome Yellowware Open Bowl by Nampeyo, c.1895-1900

Nampeyo (1856-1942) made this open bowl around 1895-1900. This early example of Nampeyo working in her yellow slip has her signature rain drops on the rim. The bowl also has a lug at the top for hanging. The design is classic Sikyatki Revival with eagle feathers and talons dropping down from a “sky” band at the top. The bowl measures 2” height and 6 ¾” diameter, and is in excellent condition with no repair.
