Two Hopi Polychrome Bat Wing Jars by Jeremy Adams Nampeyo

These two classic Hopi pottery pieces were completely traditionally-made by up-and-coming potter Jeremy Adams Nampeyo. Jeremy is in his early 30s, and is already showing great promise as a potter. His mother, Vernida Polacca Nampeyo, taught him pottery-making, and the two work closely together molding, painting, and firing their pieces. These two pieces, a seed jar and a jar with a bottle-like neck, both feature a classic Nampeyo design known as the bat wing, which has been passed down through the family for generations. The seed jar measures 4 3/8" height and 6 3/4" diameter and the jar with the raised rim measures 5 1/2" height and 6" diameter.

Please note the jar on the left has sold.
