Santa Clara Redware Jar with Kachina by Belen Tapia new
This is a carved Santa Clara redware jar by Belen Tapia. Belen Tapia (1914-1999) was the niece of Sara Fina Tafoya and first cousin of Margaret Tafoya. The jar features a kachina design, unusual for Santa Clara pottery, but exemplar of Belen's innovative style. This piece showcases her mastery of carved, polychrome pottery and figural designs. The jar measures 10 1/2" height and 13" diameter, and is in excellent, original condition. Complimentary shipping included.
