Rare Early Zuni Owl with Two Chicks, c. 1890-1900 new

This is a very early example of a Zuni owl that dates to about 1890-1900. Zuni owls became popular in the 1880s in response to rail tourism to the Southwest. This owl sports two chicks and a cornmeal pouch, another indication of its early age. The owl measures 10" height, 10" width, and 9 1/2" depth. The piece has a minor repair to one of the beaks, but is in otherwise excellent, original condition. An excellent example of tourism's early influence on Pueblo pottery. Complimentary shipping is included.
