Hopi White-Slipped Polychrome Seed Jar by Nampeyo, c.1915
This is a Hopi white-slipped seed jar made by Nampeyo around 1915. The jar shows Nampeyo working in her highly-polished, refined white slip. The painting on the jar is classic Sikyatki Revival with an emphasis on feathers. The jar has some unusual residue inside from previous use. The jar measures 6 1/2" height and 11" diameter, and has no repair or restoration. This is a great example of Nampeyo's unique seed jar form, which she developed from previous examples.
