Contemporary Hopi Tile by Rachel Sahmie
This contemporary Hopi tile is traditionally made and fired outdoors by Rachel Sahmie at her home at Polacca, Arizona. The design is an abstract geometric pattern inspired by ancient Hopi pottery. It measures 5" by 3 1/2" and is clearly signed with Rachel's Tewa name "Nampeyo Koo Loo," which means "corn." An excellent piece of contemporary Native American artwork.
