Two Polacca Pieces by Nampeyo, c.1888

From my personal stash, this bowl and large matching jar. Both are early, with same Polacca slip and represent some of Nampeyo’s early experiments in recreating old designs. Both are in original condition and should be shown together. These are my personal favorites due to the strength and the clarity when shown together. I like her early experimental work. These are transitional pieces, when she is figuring out the future. Impeccable examples. It is rare to have such a large example of Nampeyo's early work. I couldn’t resist them. Both are in excellent original condition both c. 1890.

The bowl on the left measures 8 1/4" in diameter by 3" high. The jar on the right measures 13" in diameter. Available individually or as a set.
