Jeditto Style Polacca Bowl by Nampeyo, c.1890

An important piece by Nampeyo in great original condition. It shows she was not just copying ancient pieces acquired through Fewkes’ Sikyatki excavations in 1895 - 1896. The design is very similar to designs found on ancient Jeditto pieces and features four stylized parrots in the center. Rare example of Nampeyo's early work. Dates from around 1890. Classic Polacca slip. Excellent original condition. Measures 9 1/2" in diameter by 3 1/4" high.
