San Ildefonso Olla, c.1890 new

A nice example of traditional 19th century San Ildefonso pottery, this polychrome olla features elegant geometric designs, a red rim, a secondary red band around its base and an old-fashioned stone polished slip with characteristic craquelure. All of these elements date this jar to before the turn of the century. Repairs to this piece make it an affordable opportunity for designers and decorators seeking authentic Pueblo aesthetics. The jar measures 6 ½” high by 8” in diameter. A distinctive piece at a great price.
