Hopi Open Yellowware Bowl w/ Palhik Mana new

This open yellowware bowl features a Palhik Mana Kachina mask design in red and black with detailed face markings and headdress. The Palhik Mana or Butterfly Maiden is a popular female dancer of Hopi. The exterior of the bowl features fret spirals and kiva steps, as well as diamond line motifs on the opposing four-panel shoulder of the piece and a black rim.

This piece is attributed to the Nampeyo family, most likely one of Nampeyo’s daughters.

This piece measures 2 ½’ in height and 10 ¼” in diameter with minor wear.
