Hopi Polychrome Vase by Sadie Adams, 1930-40

This Hopi polychrome vase by Sadie Adams features a butterfly-style kachina figure and a double hummingbird design, each bird drinking the nectar of an abstract flower. Each figure is full of Sikyatki iconography including the steps of life and the eagle tail design. The composition is bordered at the rim by a narrow black band, while the exterior shows pronounced orange and brown fire-clouding from outdoor firing. A small floral hallmark is painted on the base, consistent with Sadie Adams clan signature.

This Vase measures 8 5/8” high by 6 7/8” in diameter. One side shows some water damage.

p4405 -- $1250
