Hopi Bird Effigy Dish by Elva Nampeyo, c. 1950

This delightful effigy dish in the form of a bird is decorated in avian Sikyatki motifs across the wings and tail of the bird. It features fine-line details in a rich black pigment.

This piece measures 2 ½” high by 5 ½” in diameter and has some minor scuffs. Clearly signed by the artist, Elva was the daughter of Fannie Nampeyo.
