Hopi Polacca Bowl by Nampeyo, c. 1890
Great early Nampeyo Polacca bowl c. 1890. This is an early transitional piece by Nampeyo as she was transitioning from traditional designs into the Sikyatki revival modern art movement. The bowl features a crackly polacca slip. It has red rain drops around the rim and features a unique biomorphic design. Theres a similar bowl in the Field Museum in Chicago. From an old Arizona collection.
This historic piece measures 9" in diameter by 4" high. Original condition without repair. Rare piece for serious collectors of Nampeyo's work. Highly recommended.
