Kowako Mana Chicken Kachina, c.1960 new

The Kowako Kachina represents a rooster or a chicken. This doll depicts the female version of the chicken kachina with a woman's maiden shawl and white boots. This piece is carved from cottonwood root and features a distinctive blue face and a red beak. The miniature regalia shows excellent attention to detail, including a Douglass Fir ruff around the neck. This piece was carved in the 1960s and measures 12" high. It remains in excellent condition. A wonderful addition to any collection of Hopi Kachina dolls.
