Hopi Redware Effigy Head Vessel by Nampeyo, c.1900
This black-on-red Hopi jar has an eccentric, sculptural form featuring a naturalistic human face and Sikyatki Revival design elements typical of Nampeyo's high period around the turn of the century. Nampeyo is known for these expressive sculptural pieces during this era. This piece measures 4 1/2" high by 4 3/4" in diameter. It is in excellent original condition. A highly recommended addition to the collection of a discerning collection of Nampeyo's work.
