Hopi Polychrome Open Bowl with Shalako Mana by Nampeyo Family, c.1935

This Hopi bowl, although unsigned, is clearly the work of a member of the Nampeyo family. The bowl dates to the 1930s. The piece is too late to be painted by Nampeyo (1856-1942), who lost her vision in 1920, but it is decorated with her distinct Shalako Mana or Palhik Mana design. The rim rolls in and is decorated with a bold abstract design that frames the central design on the interior of the bowl. The bowl measures 2" height and 10 1/2" diameter, and is in excellent original condition.

P4702 -- $2250
