Hopi Polychrome Bowl with Rainbird Design by Nampeyo, c.1900
This large Hopi bowl dates to around 1900 and demonstrates Zuni influence on Nampeyo, with its Rainbird design in the bowl's interior. The Rainbird design is repeated four times, with the Rainbirds flying around the bowl's central sun design. This design is an excellent example of Nampeyo taking ancient designs like the Rainbird and reinterpreting them. The bowl measures 4" height and 11" diameter, and is in excellent condition with no repair.
