Rare Black on Red Handled Bottle Form by Nampeyo, c.1905

This slightly eccentric form was made by Nampeyo around 1905. The jar has elaborate twisted handles on a bottle-like form. The designs are definitely Nampeyo's, showing some experimentation on her usual Sikyatki Revival designs. The piece has a large presence, measuring 8 1/4" in height by 6 3/4" in diameter.

Provenance: Robert Chapman collection, upstate NY

P4075 -- $3150
