Acoma Triple Canteen by Lilly Salvador
This is a three-lobed Acoma canteen by traditional master-potter Lilly Salvador. The form and design of this canteen were inspired by a historic example made in 1880. This piece was signed and dated by the artist in September 1996. It is handmade of native Acoma clay and pit fired outdoors in the traditional fashion. The piece measures 5" height and 12 1/2" diameter. This is a masterpiece-level example of traditional Pueblo pottery inspired by ancient pottery, and made by a master Acoma potter.
