Classic Hopi Polacca Jar, c.1880 new
This traditional Polacca jar, dating to the late 19th century, is in excellent condition with no repairs, chips, or cracks. Expertly fired, it features classic Walpi rainbird designs and the early Polacca slip, similar to Zuni pottery, predating Nampeyo’s Sikyatki Revival of 1895. The jar has a beautifully concave bottom and is traditionally made and fired. Unsigned. Measures 7 1/2" in diameter. A fine example of historic Hopi pottery.
