Miniature Hopi Polychrome Canteen by Nampeyo, c.1910-1915

This miniature polychrome canteen by Hopi master potter Nampeyo (1856-1942) dates to 1910-1915. Here, Nampeyo has miniaturized the traditional Hopi canteen form for the tourist art market. The canteen is decorated with a classic abstract bird seen on many of Nampeyo's pieces. This piece comes with a detailed letter of attribution.

This canteen measures 3 3/4" height, 3" width, and 2 1/2" depth. This piece is in excellent condition with no repair.
