Hopi Mudhead Rattle, c. 1930-40

This Hopi Mudhead rattle is molded in a warm, brown clay with a black bandana and black markings on his face. The head retains three original feathers and rattles inside. The Mudhead Kachina is a drummer, runner, and joker within Hopi Kachina society.

This piece measures 7” long by 3 ½” wide and dates to circa 1930-1940. Unsigned
