Snow Maiden Kachina, c.1940 new

This rare pre-1940 Hopi Kachina doll represents the Snow Maiden, a figure associated with winter prayers and moisture for the coming year. She has a white face with traditional maiden’s whorls. Her miniature regalia is finely detailed, including a woman’s dress, maiden’s shawl, and white buckskin boots. She carries a gourd rasp, symbolizing her role in ceremonial music. This piece stands 5" high and remains in very good condition with the end of one foot missing. A rare and meaningful addition to any collection of Hopi Kachina dolls.
