Medium Sized Rugan Kachina, 1940s–50s new

This traditional Hopi kachina doll represents a figure who appears in groups alongside the Corn Maidens, playing rasp and gourd instruments. Recognizable by its white case mask with black and white forehead bands, this kachina features four horizontal eagle feathers, a tube mouth, and black rectangular eyes. Dressed in a kilt and white moccasins, he carries a juniper branch and rattle, with a black yarn strand draped over his shoulder. A corn motif on the back of the head aligns with his ceremonial role. Standing 11” high, this doll is a rare and valuable piece. A great addition to your collection. Highly recommended.
