Hopi Dawa Kachina, c. 1960 new

This Hopi doll is a great example of traditional Kachina carving. This piece depicts the sun god Dawa with his iconic face encircled by feathers. This piece has excellent detail, especially in the miniature ceremonial regalia which includes a tiny rattle and a dance sash hanging from the belt. This piece was made by carver Henry Shelton. It measures 13" high and is in excellent original condition. From a distinguished private collection. An excellent addition to any collection of Kachina dolls.
