Hopi Pahlik Mana Kachina Bowl by Nampeyo, c.1910
A masterful Hopi yellow ware bowl by the matriarchal potter Nampeyo (1858-1942), this piece features a perfected version of the Pahlik Mana design, an image that Nampeyo used throughout her career including her early period. This piece dates to Nampeyo's heyday in the 1910s and the design is very precisely rendered from a lifetime of refinement. This bowl measures 10" in diameter by 2 3/4" deep. It is traditionally made and fired. A representative piece by a significant Indigenous Modernist.
