Zuni Kiva Bowl, c.1890

An exceptional example of 19th century Zuni pottery, this stepped bowl features spiritual imagery including feathered serpents with heart lines on the interior and exterior of the bowl. The kiva stepping is accented with tadpole motifs. This bowl measures 11 1/4" in diameter by 5 3/4" deep. It is traditionally fired and shows ethnographic wear from use. This piece has some chipping and one of the steps is missing. Overall, it is in very good condition considering its age. An exceptional piece of pottery and a great addition to any collection.

DS1 -- $4800
