Three-Strand Zuni Fetish Necklace, c.1950

This old necklace boasts 56 different hand carved fetishes including birds, turtles and bears carved from serpentine, catlinite, coral, turquoise, jet and shell. Strung on three strands of old clam shell heishe, this piece is finished with a silver hook and eye clasp. It measures 23" in length. Two birds have minor chipping on their tails, otherwise all original condition. An excellent example of fine Zuni craftsmanship.
