Rachel Sahmie

Rachel Sahmie (1956-2022) was a Hopi master potter at First Mesa. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Nampeyo, America's first Modernist artist and the matriarch of Hopi pottery. Rachel is known for her Sikyatki Revival designs, continuing the art movement started by her great-great-grandmother in the late 1800s.
