Contemporary Hopi Mudhead by Jerome Lopez

An expressive example of contemporary figurative sculpture by artist Jerome Lopez, this figure depicts a Mudhead dancer often seen in ceremonies on the Hopi mesas. This free-standing figure holds a removable rattle and prayer feather and wears an iconic miniature bag made from a Blue Bird flour sack. It measures 8 3/4" high by 5 3/4" wide. It was made traditionally from Hopi clay in November of 2014. Excellent original condition. Signed by the artist.
