Navajo Silver Ashtray, c.1910 new

An excellent example of Navajo silverwork dating from the golden age of railroad tourism in the Southwestern USA. This piece likely originates between 1910 and 1920 in a shop along the Santa Fe railway. It is hand made with elegant stamp-work accents reminiscent of the Victorian era. This piece has thorough patina and shows signs of use. It can be polished to restore is previous luster.
It measures 4 1/8" long by 1 7/8" wide by 3/4" high. Unsigned. An excellent piece of Native American history at a great price.
