Hopi Cylinder Vase, c.1925 new
This graceful cylinder jar is an excellent example of the work of Nampeyo and her family during the 1920s. This piece has a graceful form complimented by an iconic eagle tail swirl, a design adapted by Nampeyo from pre-colonial Hopi ceramics and perfected by her descendants. During this period, Nampeyo worked closely with her daughters and created many such cylinder vases. This piece has a large presence, measuring 11" high by 5" in diameter. An excellent addition to any collection of Hopi cylinder vases.
