Acoma Effigy Mug by Jesse Garcia, c.1965

An excellent example of innovative modern pottery from Acoma pueblo, this polychrome effigy mug was made by master potter Jesse Garcia, c.1965. With a distinctive shape inspired by the rich history of pottery making in the southwest, this piece was traditionally made from native Acoma clay. It measures 7 1/2" high and is clearly signed by the artist. Excellent original condition.
