Acoma Polychrome Jar, c.1930-1940
This beautiful large jar is an iconic example of Acoma pottery dating from c. 1930 - 1940. The spherical water jar form and central rosette design are classic examples of the Acoma aesthetic. The piece is exceptionally thin and elegantly balanced, showing the expertise of the artist. It is traditionally made from Acoma clay and fired out doors. It measures 11" in diameter by 9 7/8" high. This piece dates from the period before the Acoma potters identified themselves by name and is unsigned. A great addition to any collection of Acoma pottery at a great price.
