Chief's Blanket-Style Navajo Rug, c.1940

This handsome vintage Navajo rug represents a revival of older geometric weaving designs. The rug dates to 1940 and its design a variation of a third phase chief's blanket design. The weaving is made from black, grey, beige, and red homespun wool. This large rug measures 69" height and 48" width, and is in excellent condition with some minor wear with one small hole (see last photo).
