Acoma Polychrome Dove, c.1950

This charming Acoma pottery dove dates to 1950, and is likely the work of Acoma pottery matriarch Lucy Lewis. The dove is signed "Acoma." on the bottom, which Lucy's daughter Carmel has said was how her mother signed her name prior to signing her name. This unique example of Acoma pottery is traditionally-fired and has a great presence. The dove measures 4" height, 7 1/2" length, and 4" width, and is in excellent condition with no repair.
