Hopi Black on Red Vase by Hattie Carl, c.1930 new

This is a Hopi black on red vase by Hattie Carl (1866-1960). Hattie Carl was a contemporary of Nampeyo, and began signing her work around 1925. She was one of the first Hopi potters to do so. This piece is signed on the bottom with her raincloud with lightning and a flower coming out of the top of the cloud. The painting on the vase is classic Sikyatki Revival, and it is possible that Hattie was a student of Nampeyo. The vase measures 7 3/4" height and 4 1/2" diameter, and is in excellent original condition. Complimentary shipping included.
