Fabulous White-Slipped Canteen by Nathan Begaye
This white-slipped canteen was made by the extraordinarily talented Nathan Begaye in 1993. Despite his early death in 2010, Begaye's work has remained innovative and outstanding. This canteen features precise Sikyatki Revival designs on a brilliantly polished white slip. It has a cotton strap and a traditional corn cob stopper. The ceramic is in excellent, original condition, and is fresh to the market from a Santa Fe collection. It measures 7 1/2" height, 7" diameter, and 4 3/4" depth.
