Hopi Polychrome Storage Jar by Fawn Navasie

This large storage jar is well-molded, well-painted, and well-fired by traditional potter Fawn Navasie (1920-1992). A sister-in-law of Joy Navasie, the second Frog Woman, she is also the mother of White Swan, Little Fawn, and Dawn Navasie. All are descendants of Paqua Naha, the first Frog Woman, who perfected the white slip for which the family is well-known. This storage jar measures 12.75 inches in diameter and 11 inches in height. It is in excellent condition and is signed "Fawn."
