Hopi Bowl by Tonita Hamilton Nampeyo

A stunning Sikyatki Revival piece by Hopi master potter Tonita Hamilton Nampeyo (1934-2020), this yellow ware bowl features an elegant interpretation of a classic eagle tail feather swirl motif. The artist was a third-generation master potter, the daughter of Fannie Nampeyo and the granddaughter of the matriarch Nampeyo (1858-1942). This piece carries on a family tradition fine ceramic artistry. It is traditionally made and fired, measuring 9 5/8" in diameter by 3" high. It is in excellent condition and is clearly signed by the artist. A great addition to any collection of work by the Nampeyo family.
