A large masterpiece by master potter Nyla Sahmie, this large jar is decorated with the iconic butterfly design, one of many motifs inherited from the Sikyatki Revival movement of the artist's ancestor Nampeyo (1858-1952). This jar is large and impressive, measuring an eye-popping 20" in diameter by 11" high. It was traditionally made and fired out of doors at the artist's studio in Polacca, Arizona. A significant piece of pottery by a Native American master potter.
