Hopi Polychrome Vase, Nampeyo Family, c.1920-1930
This Hopi polychrome vase has a uniquely eccentric form, a redware cylinder with a subtle bulge in the center reminiscent of a yellowware bowl. This piece evokes classic Hopi designs on an interesting eye catching form. Standing 8 1/2" high by 4 1/2" in diameter, it is an excellent example of the artistry of the Nampeyo family, possibly crafted by Fannie, dating from around 1920-1930.
An excellent addition to any collection of Nampeyo family pottery.
