Hopi White Slipped Open Bowl by Nampeyo, c.1890

This Hopi white-slipped open bowl by Nampeyo (1856-1942) dates to 1890. The bowl has a traditional lug at the top for hanging, an indicator of its early age. This transitional piece features Nampeyo's variation on the four directions symbol. The rim of the bowl has her signature raindrops. The bowl measures 3" height and 9 1/2" width, and is in excellent, original condition.
