The design of this bowl matches one pictured in the George Pepper photograph of Nampeyo's in Kramer's biography of Nampeyo, which would date it to c. 1900.

The precision and balance of the design is remarkable and shows Nampeyo working at her highest level of achievement. These bowls from this period sold for around a $1.00 each in early 1900.

The central design shows two eagle tail feather drops with eagle talons balanced by two kilt designs. Exceptional piece. Measures 10" in diameter. Minor crack repair.
